TORONTO : 16 SOA researchers figure in list of top 2 percent world scientists
TORONTO : Sixteen researchers of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), a deemed to be university, here have figured in the world ranking of top two per cent scientists for 2022 published by the USA’s Stanford University. This number was 13 last year and 11 in 2020.
Nine of the SOA researchers have figured in the list for all the three years. They are Dr Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, noted neurosurgeon and vice-chancellor of SOA, Pradipta Kishore Dash, Kulamani Parida, Lala Behari Sukla, RNP Choudhary, Goutam Rath, Niharbala Devi, Manoj Kumar Nayak and Satya Ranjan Mishra.
The others in the 2022 list include Rajashree Dash, Manohar Mishra, and Sulagna Patnaik who also made it to the prestigious list in 2021. Besides, four other researchers- Rabindranath Padhy, Binod Kumar Sahu, Susanginee Nayak and Dipti Prava Sahoo, have been named in this year’s list for the first time.
SOA’s founder president Manojranjan Nayak congratulated the researchers for getting into the prestigious list saying it would provide a boost to the research work being undertaken by the institution.
SOA has 16 research centres and 58 research labs with most of the work aligned to national priorities, official sources said.
