NEW DELHI : CICA virtual workshop on ‘Counter Radicalization’
NEW DELHI : The Ministry of External Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Home Affairs [Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) jointly with its outlying training unit, the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI)] organised a virtual workshop on ‘Counter Radicalization’ on 02-03 February 2023. Workshop was organised under the framework of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
The virtual workshop was addressed by Shri Mahaveer Singhvi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs; Shri Neeraj Sinha, Addl. Director General, BPR&D; and Shri Anurag Kumar, Director, BPR&D. Invited speakers shared their expertise on various topics including radicalization and extremism; rise of fundamentalism and its global impact; misuse of social media as a tool for radicalization; models of de-radicalization; and radicalization & international terrorism.
Representatives from several CICA Member States including, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Türkiye, Uzbekistan and Vietnam participated in the virtual workshop.
