TEL AVIV: Andrea Meza pens a letter to Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu

TEL AVIV: The newly crowned queen, Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, has arrived in New York and is set to begin her reigning responsibilities as the new Miss Universe. The 21-year-old, who flew Mumbai, India, on Sunday evening, has reached her destination, her newly designed luxurious apartment, and we can’t contain our happiness as she unravels new experiences with each passing day.

Harnaaz was overwhelmed as she gave her fans and followers a tour of her apartment and what made her even more emotional was a sweet letter by the outgoing queen, Andrea Meza.

Following a short yet influential reign, Andrea crowned her successor at the 70th edition of the prestigious international pageants hosted at Eilat, Israel, on the 12th December 2021. And though Andrea has left for her country fulfilling her crown duties, she made sure to welcome Harnaaz and left behind a letter.

“To the new Miss Universe, welcome to the sisterhood, and welcome to your new home. I remember my first day at the apartment; I was so excited to start this new life in this crazy but beautiful city. I know being away from your loved ones is hard. But remember that you’re not alone. You have an amazing support system at the Miss Universe Organization. I will always be here if you ever need someone to talk to, a friend or just advice, with love, Andrea,” read the letter.

Though it was a neck-to-neck toughie at the grand finale, Harnaaz won all hearts with her remarkable reply to the question, “What advice would you give to young women watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today?” With fire in her eyes and head held eyes, Harnaaz confidently said, “The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves. To know that you are unique makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and, let’s talk about more important things that are happening worldwide. Come out, speak for yourself, because you are the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own. I believed in myself, and that is why I am standing here today.”
