NEW DELHI: “Bollywood Can’t Afford Me, Don’t Want To Waste My Time”: Mahesh Babu
NEW DELHI: Superstar Mahesh Babu is trending big time courtesy a statement he made at the trailer launch of Adivi Sesh’s Major recently. The actor, who has been asked about his plans of starring in Bollywood films on several occasions, said during the interaction that “Bollywood cannot afford” him, stated India Today,News18 and other media reports.
Several media outlets quoted Mahesh Babu as saying this during the launch: “I did get a lot of offers in Hindi but I don’t think they can afford me. I don’t want to waste my time working in an industry which can’t afford me. The stardom and the respect I get here is huge, so I never really thought of leaving my industry and going to some other industry.”
Speaking of his goals in the coming years, the 46-year-old actor added, “I have always thought of doing films and becoming bigger. My dream is coming true now and I can’t be happier.”
Mahesh Babu, son of Telugu actor Krishna, started his career as a child artiste with 1989 film Poratam, featuring his father. He also starred in his father’s films Sankharavam and Bazaar Rowdy among others. Mahesh Babu made his full-fledged silver screen debut with 1999 film Raja Kumarudu opposite Preity Zinta.
He went on to feature films like Athadu, Pokiri, Athidhi, Dookudu, SPYder, Bharat Ane Nenu and Maharshi, to name a few. He was last seen in Sarileru Neekevvaru. His upcoming project is Sarkaru Vaari Paata. He will also star in Major.
