JAKARTA: 8th India-Indonesia Foreign Office Consultations
JAKARTA: The 8th India-Indonesia Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) were held on 26 September 2024 in New Delhi. The Indian delegation was led by Shri Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs. The Indonesian delegation was led by H.E. Abdul Kadir Jailani, Director General for Asia-Pacific and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The previous FOC was held on 14 April 2022 in Jakarta.
Reflecting on the strength of the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, both sides undertook a comprehensive review of bilateral ties including political exchanges, defence and security, maritime domain, trade & investment, healthcare, connectivity, science and technology including space, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides also exchanged perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The two sides discussed the ongoing commemoration of 75th anniversary of establishment of India-Indonesia diplomatic relations and various activities organised to mark this milestone.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made across different sectors of our engagement and agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation. It was agreed to hold the next FOC at a mutually convenient date.
